  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar, sifted (for glaze)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste (for glaze)
  • 56 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
  3. Gradually add the eggs and egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients with the milk to the butter mixture until fully combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
