Ingredients
- 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 – 2 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)
Instructions
- Prepare the ranch dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, parsley, salt, black pepper, and milk to desired consistency. Refrigerate until ready.
- In one bowl, mix flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- Dip each mushroom slice into the egg mixture followed by the flour mixture until fully coated. Let rest for about 5 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil before serving with ranch dressing.
